 Shallow Creek Outfitters is home to a very healthy population of Rio Grande Turkeys.  In this area of Kansas, availability of roosting sites is the main criteria for a stable population of birds.  We are very fortunate to have so many miles of creek bottom containing more roosting sites than could ever be used!  In the mornings when the they fly down, it is not uncommon to see 75-150 birds feasting in the fields of milo and wheat.  These birds have never been hunted and really respond to calls and decoys!
